Clean Water and Sanitation
SDG 6 — Clean Water and Sanitation
Clean water is not a luxury. It is the foundation of health, dignity, and opportunity.
In many communities in Homa Bay, families especially women and children carry the daily burden of accessing safe water. Waterborne diseases take a serious toll on health, school attendance, and household wellbeing.
Through our Maji Safi (Clean Water) initiative, in partnership with Wine to Water, we provide water filtration systems that give families access to safely filtered drinking water at home, reducing illness and freeing up time and energy for other aspects of life. Our program currently reaches 125 households, with a deliberate focus on women-led households, each supporting three to seven children.
Clean water means healthier children, fewer missed school days, and stronger families. It means women spending less time managing illness and more time building futures. That is the change Maji Safi is making quietly, consistently, one filter at a time.
